Sneaked on to the number 2 course with Keith Golf, our first round for ages, so I was really keen to play well as I know how far my game's come since we played last. Now, I'm smart enough to know that wantng something like that too much has a deleterious effect, so I made a conscious decision to swing freely & easily, playing patiently, picking positive targets.

Good Shots From This Round
Driver
1st tee shot; Picked a target, settled myself with settling breath, closing then opening eyes before blinking for good measure, making a good rehearsal swing. I then hit a beautifully effortless 240 yard draw uphill. Result!

Final hole; Keith had a chance to level as I was one-up (still not sure about his maths ;-) and I really wanted to hang on for the win. I hadn't been swinging my driver terribly well, so was again keen to swing well. Rehearsed swinging to the right, then picked target, settled and swung. Hit a 250 yard drive 10 yards short of the green, flag was 10 yards on.

Putter (Heavy putter L-3 MW)
Leaked my pitch shot right as the club-face opened slightly, and left myself a 12 footer. Keith was figuring out what he had to do to tie the hole, and I was standing there quietly confident. I was certain I'd seen the ideal path to the hole, calmly settled myself and binked before setting up, making a rehearsal swing then rolling the putt in exactly as I'd seen it. I love it when a plan comes together!
