Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
Tee shot on the 12th. Great flight and nailed it down the middle. UP, TURN, ARMSWING.
Rescue at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
2nd shot into par 5 12th. Positioned the shot well, just to the left of the green, pin high. UP, TURN, ARMSWING.
driver at burntisland golf club by Rab
hole 2- par 5, hit a nice drive up the right hand side of the fairway, allowing the wind to bring it back into the centre.
3h utitlty at burntisland golf club by Rab
8th hole:again, drive had drifted over to the adjacent 14th, however thats the safe option from the tee. hit left with 183 into the wind to centre, went down the shaft and hit it into 10ft....again!
6 iron at burntisland golf club by Rab
17th hole, normally my nemesis hole....however, strong wind off the right, hit beautifully struck six iron to 5ft from pin tucked on right hand side, and rolled in the putt for a two...kaching!
8 iron at burntisland golf club by Rab
hole 4:after decent drive left with 143 to back left stick, hit lovely high drawing 8 iron into 10 ft. par achieved!
3h utility at burntisland golf club by Rab
hole 8:a slightly wayward drive had me safely on 14th fairway(we were playing 8!) 179 to back pin into a wind, gripped down the shaft a touch on utility and knocked it into 10 ft, lovely!
5 iron at burntisland golf club by Rab
hole 16: drive just crept off the fairway into rough, left with 155 to front left pin, into a wind. gripped down the shaft and hit a lovely low piercing shot into 10ft, par achieved!
6 iron at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
On the 5th hit an excellent drive drawn to the left half of the fairway. Had ~150 yards to the flag and had drawn my club before realising that Charlie & Ewan couldn't find their tee shots (Why don't people hit provisionals more often? They knew they might not find them. Perplexing)We hunted for ages, much longer than 5 minutes, then waved through the group behind so it was a long time before I got back to my ball. I'd been determined not to let all of this affect my shot, so I got back over the ball, used my trigger and then visualised, slow (true) rehearsal swing, set up, looked at the target and swung. Hit a high draw that stopped just short of the green.
Putter at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Had hit a good drive on the 8th, then faded a 3/4 9 iron into the pin. The ball was a bit far back inmy stance, so I had a longer putt than I'd planned, from the right hand side of the green half way up to a front right hole. I went through my full routine and hit the putt with my focus on sending the ball to the hole. I nearly holed it, and my 2nd putt was a tap-in as I'd hit it dead. On another day it'd have been holed. A very good putt, for a 2nd consecutive par.
5 wood at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
I'd been having some difficulty with my 5 wood, and had a shot on the 15th where I reached for my 6 wood instead, before realising that my problem had come from an over attachment to results, meaing I was lifting my head and thus taking the past and making it the future. I went through my routine, using a clearing breath with eyes closed then open (blinking is my trigger)focusing on swinging calmly to the right and made a slow rehearsal swing before getting over the ball, setting up having a final look at the target then pulling the trigger. I "came to" after this to see a towering draw flying some 190yards, leaving a simple niblick pitch to the green. I found myself saying "that's a fecking brilliant golf shot" almost involuntarily. I *really* enjoyed this shot.
5 iron at Calcot Park GC by Neal
9th Hole. 170 yards from the fairway bunker. FLUSHED IT! Never left the pin and finished 3 foot from the hole. A career golf shot!
Driver at Calcot Park GC by Neal
18th Hole. Backswing felt wide and body quiet and level through impact. Great flight and 300 yards.
8 iron at Calcot Park GC by Neal
7th Hole. Par 3. Great flight and feel to the shot going straight at the flag. Had that feeling of being level and not hitting from the top.
Putter at Calcot Park GC by Neal
15th Hole. Downhill left to right 20 foot putt. Read the line well by thinking what would happen if i hit it straight at the hole. stroke flowed and the pace was perfect.
Driver at Hazelhead No.2 by Allan
1st tee shot; Picked a target, settled myself with settling breath, closing then opening eyes before blinking for good measure, making a good rehearsal swing. I then hit a beautifully effortless 240 yard draw uphill. Result!
Driver at Hazelhead No.2 by Allan
Final hole; Keith had a chance to level as I was one-up (still not sure about his maths ;-) and I really wanted to hang on for the win. I hadn't been swinging my driver terribly well, so was again keen to swing well. Rehearsed swinging to the right, then picked target, settled and swung. Hit a 250 yard drive 10 yards short of the green, flag was 10 yards on.
Putter (Heavy putter L-3 MW) at Hazelhead No.2 by Allan
Leaked my pitch shot right as the club-face opened slightly, and left myself a 12 footer. Keith was figuring out what he had to do to tie the hole, and I was standing there quietly confident. I was certain I'd seen the ideal path to the hole, calmly settled myself and binked before setting up, making a rehearsal swing then rolling the putt in exactly as I'd seen it. I love it when a plan comes together!
driver at burntisland golf club by Rab
2nd hole par 5. nice drive up right hand side of fairway with gentle draw. exactly as i had hoped!
4 iron at burntisland golf club by Rab
2nd hole par 5. left with 260 into green, decided to use 4 iron to knock it 170yds, did exactly that, nice smooth tempo, felt it hit the sweet spot, and landed exactly as i had planned!
driver at burntisland golf club by Rab
14th hole. there is a building on the right hand side of the fairway,so was looking to aim at the building and draw it to the centre of the fairway.Hit high powerfu draw, landing in the middle of the fairway as planned!
Driver at Tadmarton Heath by Neal
18th tee shot. Hit driver and hit a draw around the corner. Absolutely flushed it, was a smooth swing from the top. Only had a wedge left in.
9 iron at Tadmarton Heath by Neal
7th hole. Signature hole par 3. Struck it on the ideal line and carried over the front left bunker and finished 6" from the pin.
Putter at Tadmarton Heath by Neal
8th hole. 20 foot putt on a quick sloping left to right green. Picked the line and it never looked in doubt after it left the putter. Back to back birdies too!
Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
23rd hole. Wind off left. Decided to hit it down middle with draw into wind. Had a feeling of "no hit" on downswing and killed it!!!!! 80 yards left to the green.
Putter at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
14th hole. I had an 8 footer right to left and down hill for par and to halve the hole. I put a smooth stroke on it an holed it! Great feeling at a key point in the match.
7iron at Theale Golf Club by Nick
10th hole, wind strong behind. 160 to the front. Took a 7iron knowing it'd land before and hopefully roll up. Absolutely nailed it, with a bit of draw and finished just on fringe left of the flag in a putting position.
54 degree at Theale Golf Club by Nick
7th hole, hit a great tee shot leaving me 60 yards to front. Hit 54 degree at 2/3 power as I knew this would carry it exactly 60 yards. Pitched just off at front and rolled up to within 1 foot! Brilliant shot and made birdie putt!
8 iron at Theale Golf Club by Nick
16th hole, just through the fairway, ball sitting up lovely but above feet. Also wind against and blowing slightly right to left - I knew from lie it would turn over, so I set up club and took my stance aiming right. Swung gently as I knew 8 iron was more than enough to get me there and hit it great. Finished pin high 8 feet from flag
3 hybrid at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
3rd hole on Lakes, par 3. Hit a great shot here yesterday to front left pin. Remembered this, and visualized starting at the same tree. Hit a belter, letting the wind draw it round. Finished even closer this time, 6 feet from pin.
54 degree at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
8th hole on Lakes, found myself with 70 yards to the back, pin in back left on third shot. Knew with 54 2/3 swing it'd carry 60 yards so hit this with confidence straight at the flag and it landed great and stopped 4 feet from flag leaving up hill putt
Niblick (42 degree hybrid scoring club) at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Tried to play a running draw into the 5th green, but didn't swing to the right and thus had a pull hook into some mid to deep rough around the 15th green, in front of the 14th tee. The players from thje 14th tee pointed out my ball as they passed, and as I thanked them, 3 of them commentd that I wouldn't thank them once I saw the lie. Sure enough, it was a down lie in long tufty grass. Made the decision that first focus was to get the ball out, and if I were to get onto the green that would be a bonus. (it's a large green as shared with the 13th. Played ball back in my stance (just in frontof right foot), gripped down on the club, and concentrated on hitting down on the back of the ball, whilst looking at the front edge of the ball. Made 2 good rehearsal swings then played. Not only got out, but onto the green 20 feet away from hole (a great outcome from the lie) and nearly made the putt. Delighted to be down in 3 with a decent look at being down in 2 from where I was.
Niblick at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
9th hole, after a topped 6iron approach had about 90 yards to the pin. Played a half swing with the niblick, after taking dead aim, and it flew straight and true at the flag, hitting the pin and then bouncing 8 feet to the right. I made the putt for an up & down for par.
48 degree wedge at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Had ended up in a bunker off the tee on the 12th, with a long bunker shot to the green. I overcooked the shot slightly, boucing off the green to the right. Because of the raised green and the slightly patchy grass between me & hole, I decided that ol' faithful (the hybrid chip) wasn't suitable here, and I played a delicae chip from a tight lie with my 48 degree wedge. I really got the feel of a gentle finesse swing perfect here and accurately reproduced my rehearsal swing. The ball looke like it was going to fall, but (just) touched the edge of the hole before stopping inside 1 foot, another easy up & down for par. I had 4 up & downs for par this round, and 1 for bogey. This is great as getting it up & down is my new focus (seems to be one of the main differences between the 13 handicappers and me)
3 Hybrid at Club at Blackthorne by Rob
Crushed drive on #5 to middle of fairway near first set of bunkers.
Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
6th hole woods, wind blowing behind. Said to myself what I wanted to do - hit drive starting a left bunker edge with draw. Took small swings seeing in my mind how club would hit ball. Hit an awesome drive, 295 yards.
3 hybrid at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
3rd hole on lakes. 190 yards to the front pin another 8 yards on. Picked a tree to hit at and want to draw the ball back. Did small swings to get in my mind the shot to hit. Executed perfectly and landed on the green 8 feet from pin
54 degree at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
6th hole on lakes, short par 4. 3 hybrid left me 95 yards to the middle hitting into the wind. Made small swings to imagine great contact with the ball. Hit my best shot all day, perfect contact. Pitched a few inches away from hole! Rolled in 6 feet putt for birdie
Driver at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Opening drive of the day, my partners let me drive first. I concentrated on my process, made a clear and congruent plan before making an excellent rehearsal swing behind the ball, then stepping up, aiming & making a relaxed swing at about 3/5 effort, and saw the ball zip off the clubface, and fly with a tiny little draw to the middle of the opening between the bunkers leading to the first green. The best drive I've ever played on that hole.
24 degree Hybrid at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Had a great drive at the 7th, a 250 yarder. Still had over 200 yards to the green, so laid up with an 8 iron (to the derision of my playing partners), then played a 3/4 9 iron through the back of the green. I stood over my shot for some time as the others played, and really "saw" the path to the hole. Ball was on a slight downslope, set my shoulders with the slope and played the hybrid putt-chip I'm coming to love. It rattled into the hole for a birdie, to my delight.Again, I was absorbed in the process for every shot on this hole, particularly the final chip
60 degree wedge then putter at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
On the 9th, played into the sand behind the green. Played a delicate shot out (John declared "That's a real golf shot";-), leaving me with an 8 footer for the up & down. Again, I concentrated on the process, executing my full routine before making a good rehearsal stroke, then stepping up focusing on repeating that stroke.
Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
22nd Hole. Partner had put the ball OB so pressure was on. Hit the drive stright over the tree into the middle of the fairway. Set up for a great birdie.
58 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
17th hole. I was just off the green and chipped the ball to my landing spot, the ball released and rolled into the hole for birdie. Like watching it in slow motion.
Putter at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
26th hole. Hit a great 8 iron to the back of the green and ended up just off. Had a right to left breaker and made it!
6 iron at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
4th hole lakes, hit a great tee shot into the middle of the fairway. About 160 to the middle with the pin at the back so I knew from printout 6 iron was the right club. Set myself up carefully as ball was slightly above my feet and aimed right expecting it to draw. Made a smoot swing and hit a sweet shot with the draw I wanted. Ball pitched just past middle and finished 10 feet from flag.
sand wedge at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
7th hole on Woods, in front of left bunker with flag at the front. Wanted a soft landing shot so look sand wedge rather than blasting it out with 60 degree. Picked a landing spot and made a smooth swing making sure to make a full finish. Ball popped up lovely and landed right where I wanted to rolling just past flag. Made putt back for a great up and down par
putter at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
Woods - 8th hole. Flag at the back, my ball at the front - 30 feet away. I walked all around the green to get full picture of it - put was uphill till last 4 feet where it started back down with right to left break. Saw the line and decided to make a large putting stroke and hit it lovely. Set off on course and took the break to dive into the middle of the hole for birdie
Driver at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Nick
9th hole on Woods. Wind was blowing behind and I had been hitting a draw all day. Saw the ball flight and picked my spot on the ground to align myself. Did mini-swing to imagine ball connection and flight and help get wrists right. Took a steady swing while counting and hit a beauty. Finished middle of the fairway with 50 yards to go!
6 iron at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Nick
4th hole on parks. Hit a good tee shot leaving 170 to the front of the green with wind helping. Ball was slightly below feet so wanted to make a smooth swing with a 6 rather than a hard 7. Picked spot on ground to line me up, and did mini-swing to help imagine the ball strike. Swung to count of 2 and hit a sweet strike the landed right on the front and finished in middle of green.
4 hybrid at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Nick
6th hole on parks, par 4. 185 yards to the back, wind hurting off the right. Aimed slightly right of centre hoping draw and wind would bring it back to the middle. Hit a nice smooth shot after lining up with point on the ground and making mini-swings to imagine ball strike. Hit it just as I imagined and landed in middle of green. Best ever shot on this hole.
4 iron at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
Tee shot on 24th hole. Hit it right down the middle level with the bunker. First time I haven't blocked it right on this hole for a while! "level belt on follow through"
Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
19th hole tee shot. Ripped it at the marker post and finished past the bunker. Felt the elastic band extension!
Putter at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
20th hole. 10 foot putt, uphill right to left. Picked the line, rolled it on line to make the putt. Stroking a lot of putts dead on line.
9 iron at Theale Golf Club by Pete
3rd shot to par 5 14th from bunker 105 yds to flag. Hit down and through ball which gave me a draw to pin and ended up 15 inches below pin on line. Best long bunker shot I have ever hit. Great to be rewrded for going for a shot
60 degree wedge at Theale Golf Club by Pete
2nd shot to par 3 2nd. Right side of green with chip over bunker and not much room to land ball. Committed to shot and stopped pin high 4 foot left of flag. Glad I went for committed shot, felt like Phil Mickleson!
putter at Theale Golf Club by Pete
Birdie putt 18th hole, 15 foot up hill slightly right to left. Putt was to make par for back nine and give me 40 pts over all. Focus was intense and confident stroke. Very happy!
6 iron at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
Par 3 14th. 175 yards to flag. Hit 6 iron and flushed it. Finished 8 foot from the hole and made the putt!
58 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
26th hole. Approach was short of green. I pitched the ball just onto the green and it released nicely to the edge of the hole. Visualised it and it happened.
3 Wood at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
After an excellent drive into the wind, which was shortened to good drive length by rhe wind, I had quite a big distance to the green and was into the teeth of the gale which was at it's strongest. I hit my 3 Wood from back in my stance with a soft 3/4 swing, giving me a low running shot that stayed under the wind.
24 degree hybrid at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
Played to the back of the green on the 8th as was pitching over the bunker and overcooked it slightly. Had a slight downhill lie in the rough just behind the fringe. Carefully set my spine angle with the slope, and used a putting stroke to play the ball into the centre of the hole. I'd forgotten about my pitch so thought it was for eagle when I hit it- of course it wasn't, but nice to know I can hit that shot whislt thinking that!
Niblick at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
On the 14th, the Coo's Hillock I was flustered as there was an impatient group behind (they were up close all day because they'd pushed on without a time) and I'd just played the wrong ball onto the green (One of their's- I hadn't realised they'd played whilst we were looking for John's ball) I dropped the ball back by the divot then rushed off to play my ball. It's an elevated green, and was about 100 yards away. Despite being flustered, I used my routine and hit a screamer to 10 feet away. Veyr pleased with it, as it seemed more likely thee shpot would be a disaster
7 iron at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
1st hole on woods. Drive put me in the middle of the fairway with ball below my feel. 145 to the middle. Put the club flat to the ground and took my position and made a smooth swing. Ball flew a little left to right as expected coz of slope but finished pin high around 8 feet from the pin
4 hybrid at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
2nd hole on lakes. Had a game plan for the hole that executed brilliantly. 3 hybrid, 9 iron layup in front of lake leaving me 170 to the middle and 188 to the back. Uphill so I knew 4 hybrid wouldn't go over the back. Imagined the flight the ball would take, and took a smooth swing. Struck it beautifully and it pitched in middle of the green and rolled just past the flag at the back
60 degree at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
7th on lakes, par 3. Was in the right bunker with a flag at the front which didn't give me much green to work with. Shot was into the wind and I had an uphill lie which helped. I opened the club and took a smooth backswing, making sure I followed through to finish with light hands. Ball popped up lovely and landed just past the pin, spinning and stopping within 6 feet. Played like a pro!
Driver at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
18th hole. Ripped the driver on the ideal line over the trees. Left with 75 yards to the pin. Serious SMASH FACTOR!
58 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Neal
18th hole. Very clean contact with lots of spin. 6 foot for birdie and holed the putt.
Putter (2-Ball) at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
5th hole; a double green shared with the 13th. Mishit my chip, was left with a very long putt and a three putt looked inevitable. I hit an excellent lag putt to 3 feet and then sank the putt for a 2 putt I just wouldn't have made. (this might seem a funny thing to put here, but I'm just so proud of this,as lag putting had been a big issue & I'd worked on it the previous week.)
24 degree hybrid at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
I'd been in the front bunker on 18, with a front pin position, and had slightly underhit my bunker shot trrying to get a bit too cute. My ball was about 3 feet off the green, on a slight up slope at the junction of fairway and fringe. Mindful of Dave Pelz Damage Control Setupology, I made sure my spine angle was perpendicular to the slope made a good rehearsal swing then concentrated on recreating that, as I did and then watched the ball pour into the centre of the cup for a sandy par- my third!
Putter at Kings Links Golf course by Allan
10th hole- a nasty long par three with upturned elevated green and eleavted tee with a gorse filled gully and fairly heavy rough that's wrecked many a resolution to have a good back nine. I had about an 8-10 foot putt on a tricky green, made a good rehearsal swing and concentrated on recreating that whilst making a smooth swing, and watched the ball pour into the centre of the hole, to hear David my supportive and friendly playing parnter declare "we'll make a golfer of you yet!" in delight ;-)
Driver at Wrotham Heath GC by Matthew
We played the back nine first so started on the 10th. First shot of the round, I lined up to the first cut on the right of the fairway and took a relaxed but positive swing. The ball started perfectly on line and drew nicely into the middle of the fairway, approx. 270 yards.
6 iron at Wrotham Heath GC by Matthew
The par 3 12th is 169 yards on the card and although it's uphill all the way the flag is right on the front, it's hot and the air is completely still. I line up to the right expecting to draw slightly with the safety of the bank feeding down to the green. I take a calm but positive swing and it looks and sounds perfect. The ball draws straight at the pin and bounces just on the fringe. When I get up to the green the ball had bounced on and finished 3 feet from the hole, pin high.
Putter at Wrotham Heath GC by Matthew
I'd hit a nice 5 iron down onto the front of the par 3 5th to 12ft. I was a little dissapointed not to be closer from a well struck tee shot but I took a good look at the line and new I would have to start the putt close to the right fringe of the green. I started the ball slightly lower and stronger than inteded but immediately felt it had a chance. It tracked all the way and hit the middle of the hole for my first of 2 birdies of the day.
putter at Theale Golf Club by Nick
2nd hole, had 8 feet for par. I was above the hole with left to right break. I saw the line and pace in my mind and new it was a small/medium putt. Took a smooth putting stoke and the ball rolled just where I imagined it would and straight in the centre of the cup to win the hole.
7 iron at Theale Golf Club by Nick
9th hole, found myself in trouble twice and so had my 4th shot from 135 yards to middle of the green into a headwind. Decided to play a smooth seven rather than hit a hard 8 and focused on going straight at the flag drawing it in. Made a smooth swing thinking only of the flag and hit a great shot with the flight just as I imagines. It pitched 2 yards in front of the hole and finished 1 yards behind it for a great par and win of the hole.
5 iron and putt at Theale Golf Club by Nick
13th hole. Wind was behind today. Pin middle left. 170 to the front, I aimed at the centre of the green to draw it in there. Hit a beautiful shot and landed at the front with the draw flight I imagined and finished 12 feet past the hole. The putt was a tricky one, left to right - with grain with at the end. I drew the red line of the putt in my mind and let it go. It just got to the hole and dropped in for a great birdie!
58 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
8th hole. 45 yards from the pin, landed it right by the hole and stopped for a tap in. Got a feel for the number and played the shot!
Driver at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
5th Hole. Took driver aiming to hit it straight over the tree. Great contact and flight, ball carried the tree and ended on the fairway.
5 iron at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
2nd hole on the lakes. Third shot to the green which is uphill and wind against. I had 170 yards to the middle and so hit a smooth 5 iron. Shot went nice and straight and finished on the front of the green
PW at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
8th hole on the lakes, 120 yards to front with a red flag. Imagined a nice upright swing and executed the shot just as I had seen in my mind. It flew lovely and straight and finished 5 feet from the hole. I got the putt for birdie as well.
55 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
Par 5 on woods, had 80 yards to middle of the green. Just the distance I have been practising. Took a short back swing and accelerated through the ball. Ball finished up pin high, distance control was perfect! Practice makes perfect
3 wood at burntisland golf club by Rab
3rd hole, par 3, 210 yds into a wind. none of my partners had got anywhere close to the green. i hit a delicious 3 wood arrow straight onto the green, leaving us 15 ft for a birdie.
9 iron at burntisland golf club by Rab
9th hole. 138 to back pin, wind helping slightly, downhill lie. hit a great 9 iron that landed 10 ft short of pin, and ran 5 ft past....just felt so solid!
3h utility at burntisland golf club by Rab
12th hole par 5. after great drive from lee, 170 left uphill to green. went down shaft on utility wood, looking for a fade, ball started 10 yds outside left of green, faded back in beautifully and landed on the green 20ft from the hole....lovely!
5 iron at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
2nd shot into 22nd. Into the middle of the green with good trajectory. The strike was exactly what I have been feeling in practice!
Driver at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
23rd hole. Sent it down the middle with a draw. Very similar to what I had visualised.
Putter at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
20th hole. A 12 footer for par from below the hole. I aimed outside the right lip and struck it firmly. Middle of the putter and the ball rolled in at good pace. A NO FEAR putt,
Driver at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
1st tee. Solid contact down the left side. Nice straight flight.
58 degree wedge at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
From the side of the 7th green in a hollow. Tough looking chip with not much green to play with. Clean contact, landed close to where I wanted, ball rolling on line for the hole, finished 3" short of the hole for a gimme!
putter at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
par 3 on the woods. Hit a great tee shot with my six iron 6 feet away from a middle flag. Putt was a little uphill because of right to left break. Looked at putt from in front and behind and imagined a red line it would take and decided it was a small putting stroke. Smooth stroke and it followed the line into the middle of the hole for birdie.
pitching wedge chip at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
6th hole, stroke index 1. Was on the top right fringe to a middle yellow flag. Had a long chip that was slightly uphill due to the strong right to left break. Painted a landing spot on the green and saw in my mind how the ball would roll out. Played the shot just thinking of the landing spot and pitched it there perfectly. Roll out was great and it finished within 12 inches of the hole.
60 degree at Sandford Springs - Woods/Lakes by Nick
Was plugged in the face of the bunker on the upslope to a flag that was 7 yards away. Knew I had to hit it hard to get it out so opened the face right up. Took a big swing but made sure I didn't quit on the follow through. Popped it right up in the air for a lovely soft landing and finished within 5 feet. Rolled the putt in for a half as well!
7 iron at Theale Golf Club by Nick
3rd hole, after a steady start. Drive finished just before the bunker in the light rough. 150 to the front and I hoped the ball would bite and not run on. Took a smooth swing focusing on feeling like squatting on my right leg and hit a beauty with a little draw. Finished pin high 12 feet away. Rolled the put in for a birdie
Driver at Theale Golf Club by Nick
11th hole, wind slightly behind and left to right. In my mind I put a red flag in the middle of the fairway and aimed at that. Hit a great drive getting into my right side which finished passed the bunker leaving me a PW in.
54 degree wedge at Theale Golf Club by Nick
16th hole left my approach well short. There is a ridge before the green I knew I had to pitch onto to have any change of stopping the ball on the green, but I knew that'd stop my 60 degree dead. Hit a nice short pitch and landed it exactly on the ridge which was all I thought about while swinging, and ball rolled nicely into the hole for a birdie!

after struggling to get to green in four(had to take a penalty drop) left with a 50 ft putt for par. I had line it up as just a half ball outside right edge......all about the pace.....dispatched for a 5!

First tee, wind was blowing left to right. Aimed over the tree with the plan of drawing it back. Swung the club nice and steady making sure to feel the squat on my right side. Hit a cracking drive that went a long way only leaving a 5 iron to the green!
60 degree and putt at Theale Golf Club by Nick
Had 60 yards to the front of the green with wind slightly behind. Hit a full swing and it landed on the front and rolled up to within 5 feet of the pin just to the right of it. The putt was a little right to left. I drew a red line in my mind that the ball would travel along and practised my putt aiming along that. Felt free of tension and hit a great putt - it rolled right in the middle for birdie.

I knew Andy and I were level on points and he had a par. I had a 20 foot putt for par after playing my second shot away from the flag from behind a tree. I didn't say anything, just saw the line the ball would travel, it's speed and the break left to right. Took a couple of practice swings looking along this red line and then let the putt go. Perfect line and pace for it to just drop in the middle and get a great par!

8 foot Putt on the 14th hole. Big right to left break and a quick downhiller. I could SEE the line of the putt clearly. I noticed that my hands were very relaxed on the putter and the ball rolled in at the ideal pace.
3 Wood at Sandford Springs - Parks/Woods by Neal
Tee shot on the 15th hole. My intention was to start the ball right of centre with a slight draw. Contact was great and my lower body felt quiet. The shot was exactly the way I visualised it.

Chip from the edge of the green on the 18th. I picked the spot where I wanted it to land and made great contact, free of tension. It rolled in the hole!

7th hole on the parks. Had the wind behind and had been hitting my driver great so aimed a little right of the fairway to draw it to the middle. Hit a screamer that went 272 yards - measured with skycaddie!

4th hole on the parks. Hit a lucky 4 hybrid on to the green that caught the right slope and rolled onto the green leaving a 15 foot putt. Saw the line and imagined the ball rolling along it. Hit the putt with no thoughts and watched it roll straight in the middle of the hole for a birdie!

4th hole - woods. Down hill lie. 130 yards to middle but with a head wind. Hit a nice full shot which had a great shape to it. Landed 12 feet from pin and stopped dead. Best thing was I rolled the birdie putt in as well!
